Sandy is a native and lifelong resident of Central Oregon. She has held an Oregon real estate license since 1979 and has practiced continuously since then with realty companies in Redmond and Bend. She earned many regional, national and international sales awards over the course of her career.
Building on this success, Sandy formed The Garner Group as an independent real estate company in January 2008. The business and number of agents have grown steadily, with 22 licensed Brokers currently engaged in real estate sales plus six staff and management employees.
The company established a franchise relationship with Harcourts International in 2014 and is now branded as Harcourts The Garner Group Real Estate.
Much of Sandy’s career has focused on new home neighborhoods. She created the model for Harcourts The Garner Group’s business relationship with some of Central Oregon’s top home builders. She has worked with builders and developers to market successfully some of Bend’s landmark residential developments, including award-winning neighborhoods that made Craftsman period design Bend’s signature architectural style. One such, West Bend Village, earned a Governor’s Livability Award in 1997 from the State of Oregon.
Sandy has earned certification by the National Assn. of Realtors as a Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) and Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). Both are achieved through ongoing advanced professional training and attainment of performance benchmarks. She is a member of the Central Oregon Assn. of Realtors Government Affairs Committee and has supported local charitable organizations through personal and company participation in fund-raising events.
Sandy serves on the boards of directors of Partners in Care, one of the oldest hospice and home health organizations in Central Oregon, and Building a Better Bend, a non-profit organization that presents expert speakers in the field of sustainable growth and fosters discussion on how to apply their ideas locally. She was chosen by the Central Oregon Builders Assn. to receive the 2014 Gary Bunger Memorial Award for Industry Loyalty, based on involvement in COBA, industry accomplishments and civic activities.
