    From 2007 to 2013, Rudy completed real estate development and construction through various single asset entities with his expertise in the San Diego urban real estate market. Rudy specializes in small to medium sized urban infill projects in Southern California. He has a successful track record including development, brokerage and construction for nearly 20 years; he has been acknowledging for his superior design and use for unique urban projects. Rudy's expertise includes real estate acquisitions, construction, entitlement, management, whether discussing adaptive reuse, or changing the urban landscape his passion, sensibility’s and experience are evident. He also negotiated the acquisition and development of urban in-fill locations, with a focus on multi-family housing. Rudy has been involved in the acquisition and development of over 200 million dollars of commercial and residential real estate in San Diego County. His responsibilities included negotiating purchase contracts, lease negotiations, project design, and construction management. Other areas of expertise included financial feasibility, coordination of third party consultants, entitlement processing, and accessing capital resources. Investment Brokerage: Rudy began his commercial real estate career with Marcus and Millichap. The company is a national real estate brokerage firm, specializing in representing buyers and sellers during acquisition and disposition of investment real estate. His clients consisted of lenders, investors, developers, and syndicates. Education and Affiliations: Rudy attended the University of San Diego and National University, majoring in Business Administration and Real Estate. He is an active California Real Estate Broker and a licensed Class B General Contractor. Personal: Rudy lives in Carmel Valley, California, with his wife Melinda and their three children. Rudy enjoys travel, yoga, sports, cooking and spending time with his family. Beginnings: Rudy grew up in Point Loma as a part of the well-known Medina fishing family. His father Joe Medina Jr. was a pioneer and innovator of the tuna fishing techniques that are used today all over the world. The family immigrated to the United States around at the turn of the century, settled in Point Loma, San Diego, and was one of the many pioneers that helped create tuna industry in the United States.

Cord received his B.A. from Hamilton College in New York and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. Cord launched into residential real estate in 2005 before transitioning into commercial real estate where built and managed a team of right-of-way agents responsible for the acquisition and management of property for various transmission, wind, and solar projects nationwide. More recently, Cord worked at the City of San Diego where he managed the San Diego Regional Enterprise Zone Program, a collaborative between the Cities of San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, and the Unified Port of San Diego with a focus on business expansion, attraction, and retention efforts in the region, and later served as Deputy Press Secretary for Economic Development to former Mayor, Jerry Sanders. Cord joins Harcourts with a solid foundation for leading teams and cultivating success. He’s passionate about building people and is excited about the opportunity to help both new and experienced agents achieve personal and professional success.
